Doug walked up the driveway from his morning run. A few leaves scattered the large maple in the front yard. He swore under his breath as he examined the pile that had fallen during his quick 10k, requiring yet another raking to keep the HOA off his nuts. Adding the job to his mental todo list, he continued towards the door.

Inside he found reprieve, the warm dry air of the well-insulated building immediately started driving the cold from his slender body. Warmth returned to his ears and he could finally hear a cacophony of cooking. Doug kicked off his shoes and rolled his eyes before making way to the kitchen.

Once there, Doug discovered his boyfriend, Charlie, darting between a wide variety of dishes. Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked yams, roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower, dinner rolls, and a pumpkin pie, each in quantities enough to feed a family of 10.

“How was your run, babe?” Charlie sang out cheerfully while looking at Doug for only a moment before returning to the cooking.

Losing Streak

Jared flopped himself onto the couch as he waited for the loading screen. He’d just picked up the latest puzzle based JRPG and was eager to spend the weekend grinding. The start menu appeared, and he readied himself for a new game.

The tutorial was just as mind numbing as they all were. ‘Press X to jump’ and ‘Press forward to walk forward’ always made his eyes roll at just how standard the controls were. The puzzles were also cartoonishly easy, making him question if the future ones would be as challenging as he’d hoped.

Finally out of the tutorial, he discovered that the world wasn’t linear while also not being empty like so many American games had devolved into. Pulling up the map, he set his waypoint to the first puzzle in the magic tree and set off.

The first puzzle was just as challenging as he’d hoped, a mix of pattern recognition and timed movements to dodge oncoming obstacles. There were several points where he nearly failed, but he narrowly made it through. This game was looking up for Jared.

Himbo Containment Breech

Part 5 of the Himbo series.

Gerald tightly ran his hands through his rapidly thinning hair as the read the incident report before him. Two incidents in as many weeks. Two employees under his care transformed into himbos. Two instances where he failed to demonstrate control of the himbos. Gerald knew he was about to be fired.

The rational parts of his brain knew this was coming. The fact that no one in the history of ever had tried to control such a large number of himbos in this manor was irrelevant to corporate. By law their only focus was maximizing profits for the elite few shareholders that owned the company. Everything else, like expected failures on a new project, was irrelevant to them.

After checking his work for the 10th time, he pressed send on the email. Gerald had managed to hold off reporting it for four days while he tried to ensure he had control, but he couldn’t procrastinate it any longer. He sat back in his chair and waited the phone call he knew was coming.

Auston’s knees were aching as he stood guard near the outskirts of the temporary bull pen. He’d been standing there for over an hour, working as backup for the team of guards who normally worked with the bulls, and was itching to get back to overseeing the sweet and docile cows he was accustomed to.

Himbo Exposure

Part 4 of the Himbo series.

Word about Ronald’s, now Ron, untimely seduction and transformation by a cow spread quickly through the facility. Corporate was furious that such an event could occur, especially with this location being chosen to prevent any such misshapes. As a result, the foreman and the facility as a whole were put on high alert.

The events of last week played through William’s head as he finished turning the last screw on the last remote silent alarm. It was a needed addition to quickly mobilize all staff in the event of a seduction or overpowering by a himbo, or at least corporate thought so. To William it didn’t make sense how this would prevent another incident, but William’s job wasn’t to think, it was to build.

With this extra job finally completed, he looked to his watch and cursed. It was time for his daily safety meeting, the low point of every day since it began. Some corporate goon would show up and lecture the staff on the newest “bright” idea from the higher ups on how to prevent another incident. Often times these ideas would be thoroughly shot down when the workmen complained at just how impractical the idea was.
